The purpose of the Drama Club is to promote the development of theater skills and community through the creation of theatre. This community accepts each member for whom s/he is, strives to nurture relationship, dedication, loyalty, and commitment while engaged in the process of mounting a theatrical production and building theater skills. Rehearsals usually take place between 3:00 and 5:30 pm., Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, then 6:30 to 8:30 pm., Tuesdays and Thursdays, when a show is in production. Acting skills and technical skills in lighting, set work, stage management and sound are taught. Membership is usually based on a desire to become part of a community of individuals dedicated to the creation of a theatrical event.
Musical: The annual musical production is produced each fall. Auditions are usually held at the end of August.
One-Act Play: The Freeport High School One-Act Drama program is one of only two drama programs in the state that produces student-written plays for entry into the annual Maine Principal's Association One-Act Drama Festival competition.
