JMG Speaker Series

JMG Specialist Jay Harper along with FHS Service Learning Coordinator, Dede Bennell have been working with Keith Mcbride who is the Executive Director of the Freeport Economic Development Corporation and Chip Gray owner of the Harraseeket Inn.  The goal is to have local professionals come to speak to students about careers and their business so students can learn about opportunities that are available here in Maine.  So far we have held two sessions with 5 different speakers; entrepreneurs Ryan McDermott; McDermott Shapes, John Turner; Traps Eyewear, Chelsea Doyle who is the Digital Community Manager at Bowdoin College. The first session had Sara Spugnardi; Senior Retail Recruiter at L.L.Bean and Chuck Spencer; Corporate Safety Manager at UNUM.

Earth Club Receives Ecomaine Excellence Award

FHS Earth Club members received and Ecomaine Excellence Award for their continued efforts in sustainability and for getting our recycling and clynk program up and running at FHS.  There is still much to do and they will do it!

We took the RSU5 Van down to a luncheon reception and then got a tour of the recycling facility.  Students were awesome and represented FHS very well.  Congratulations to Yacob Olins, Zoe Fox, Kyle Dorsey, Bennett Hight, Perrin Davidson, Maya Egan and Maya Bradbury.  Not only did they get a plaque, but they received hats made out of recycled acrylic!
