Facilities Study Update

In May of 2011, The RSU5 Board of Directors supported the creation of the Freeport High School Facilities Study Advisory Committee to consider the safety, accessibility and appearance of the school. In August the committee’s charge was amended to include the capacity and utilization of the existing building to accommodate growth and evolving programs needs

This fall RSU5 secured the services of the architectural firm Portland Design Team (PDT), to develop a master plan to address identified needs.

In The Classrooms

Ms. Massey's Contemporary Global Issues class hosted 10 visitors from Estonia and their State Department escorts last Friday afternoon. The group was visiting Maine and the US to look at waterfront development and they asked to see a typical Maine High School. A wide-ranging question and answer session was held in the library where the delegation presented on such topics as the history of Estonia, their education system, and their economy.   Read More

College Admissions 101 !

Whitney Soule, Director of Admissions at Bowdoin College will be putting on an admissions presentation in the FPAC on Thursday, May 24 from 6 - 8pm. She will cover topics including but not limited to, choosing the right school for you, writing your college essay, how to ace an interview, and what makes a good recommendation. Students and parents are encouraged to attend!

Freeport High School is gearing up for its annual Senior Projects event. Through Senior Projects, students at Freeport High School create and realize a learning experience in the final weeks of their senior year.  The culmination of this learning experience is a presentation on the project given before students, faculty, administration, parents, and community. Presentations 2012 begin the final week of May.
